82: O' GRANNY MY GRANNY

O' Granny my Granny!
Where had you gone?
I'd been missing you so much.
Since you departed -
Four winters ago.

Reminiscing the times -
When we were together.
Has been a habit of mine -
Since you departed.
O' how I long the days -
When you were still with us;
Warm, happy and full of life.

Those days were some of the best -
Years in my lowly existence here on earth.
I should have done more for you.
O' Granny my Granny!
This my biggest regret -
For not having done so,
While you were still with us.

O' Granny my Granny!
How I wish I could turn back time -
To be with you again.
To spend more quality time with you.
How painful it is to think -
That when Death has come and reaped out -
The life - That's when we just come to our senses;
To should have done more while someone was still -
Warm - and - Breathing.

O' Granny my Granny!
If ever I survive the coming wrath of Jah
And come to see you again face to face -
In the flesh together with Gramps.
I just hope you would be as glad to see me -
As I would be glad seeing you.

O' Granny my Granny!
To your legacy I shall pour,
The love and care that I haven't -
Had the chance to show you.
For you were taken untimely from us -
By man's unbeatable foe.
This I swear and hope -
I would find comfort knowing that -
I would be taking care the one you were so worried -
In leaving behind.

O' Granny my Granny!
I just wish you are still here -
With us today.

(A poem dedicated to our late grandmother Mrs. Delfina C. Hamada. Died exactly four years today)
